MOXHE HOUSE
Project: Casa Moxhe | Refuge of Earth and Modernity
Located in the exclusive BAK development in Playa del Carmen, this residence redefines coastal luxury through honest architecture that pays homage to its surroundings. The design stems from a deep connection to regional materials , seeking a perfect balance between contemporary comfort and the warmth of the land.
Architectural Concept and Materiality
The house is conceived as a solid and elegant volume where stone elements and exposed concrete interact with natural textures. The palette of materials has been carefully selected to reflect the tones of the soil and the Quintana Roo rainforest.
Woods in natural tones: Used in carpentry and ceilings to provide warmth and a tactile organic texture.
Stone from the region: Rustic stone walls that anchor the construction to the ground, providing a unique artisanal identity.
Technology in Window and Door Systems: High-end systems that allow an invisible transition between the interior and exterior, optimizing natural ventilation and thermal efficiency.
Interior Spaces: Warmth and Spaciousness
The interior design follows a warm minimalism. The social area integrates the living room and dining room under a single design language of high ceilings and polished concrete finishes, complemented by furniture in natural fibers and neutral tones that invite relaxation.
The kitchen, the functional heart of the house, stands out for its integrated design with light wood finishes and a central island that encourages socializing, while maintaining a clean and sophisticated aesthetic.
Connection with the Outside
The design prioritizes outdoor living. The back terrace, with its designer fire pit and fine gravel finish, creates a contemplative space surrounded by native vegetation. It's a space designed for slow living, where the sounds of the jungle and the privacy of the perimeter wall offer a personal sanctuary.
