CASA SURESTE
Southeast House | The Diffused Light Monolith
Located in the Cuatro Lagos residential development, Casa Sureste is a building that explores the duality between the solidity of a monolith and the flexibility of contemporary life. Conceived under a concept of programmatic versatility , the house can be inhabited as a whole or operate under a lock-off rental agreement.
The Concept: Mass and Void
The exterior volume is a statement of architectural principles: a solid piece that appears to have been sculpted by wind and time.
Access Flaring: Two monumental walls embrace the main volume, creating a flaring gesture that invites entry while safeguarding the privacy of the interior.
The Hermetic Front: Towards the street, the house hides and reveals itself "little by little", maintaining a discreet facade that keeps the mystery of what happens inside.
Earth Materiality: Finishes are used that seek closeness to the ground and the natural texture, making the monolith feel like an extension of the site.
An Experience of Light and Heights
The interior of Casa Sureste is a constant interplay of contrasts. Unlike the harsh exterior, the interior spaces soften and are filled with nuances:
Filtered Light: The use of strategic lattices and mid-height furniture allows natural light to travel freely, creating a warm and ever-changing atmosphere.
Spatial Transitions: The route is a sensory exploration through changes in height and materiality that define each zone without the need for solid walls.
Comfort and Landscaping Engineering
The house seeks not only aesthetic beauty, but also an intelligent response to the region's climate:
Thermal Regulation: The pool is buried next to a sunken room , functioning as a natural thermal regulator that cools the environment.
Visual Exploration: The sunken room allows a unique visual connection with the bottom of the pool, transforming the water into a living architectural element that integrates into the social area.
Versatility for the Future
With its convertible 3rd bedroom scheme, Casa Sureste offers its owners the possibility of generating income through short stays or expanding their home according to their needs, without ever compromising the essence of the design.
